pardon my shot at this. i’m just quite a little poetic these days.
It’s seconds beating midnight,
swirls of mellow breeze subtly
flip your window’s ashen curtain.
Another pour, another sip,
streaks of thought are running deep,
amassing the weary mind
that would not succumb to the call of sleep.
Tac! Tac! Tac!
oblivious to the fur ball
warming your feet,
restless fingers refuse to cease.
Like a pianist headbanging
the the power of his recital piece,
your threads are alas weaving;
the same might be a chef-d’oeuvre,
the same might be not,
but what matter does it make?
Go on, pound that keyboard,
shake the pillar of crime lords,
stir the rut of a partial system,
make heard the crescendo
of your hounding rhythm.
Dust away people’s indifference.
Yes! your words are pooling reverence.
Tic! Tac! Tic ! Tac!
Lo! it’s 4 hours past August 28th,
Take a stretch, unleash a yawn,
take delight on the wondrous hues of dawn.
Pour another.
Lift it up, soak it down,
savor the jasmine aroma for the nth round.
Happy birthday valiant soul.
