The meaning of scope of Equality and Non-Discrimination in the CEDAW
My topic in the Southeast Asian Regional Judicial Colloquium in Changmai Univeristy on Oct 25-27, 2007 is ” The Principles of CEDAW : The Meaning and Scope of Equality and Non-Discrimination and its Application in the Judiciary.”
I will discuss this case in relation to judicial practice and jurisprudence in the Philippines, and existing cases such as the class suit filed by female flight attendants of Philippine Airlines (who are required to retire at 55 in their collective bargaining agreement, while the men retire at 60 years old) and the Rosalie Garcia case under R.A. No. 9262
